Our Highly Trained Staff
The staff of Family Pharmacy of Sarasota constantly strives to provide caring, courteous and personalized service. Many of our pharmacy technicians are nationally certified. Our compounding pharmacists and technicians have undergone formalized training from the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA) in Houston, Texas. We continuously update our skills, compounding and pharmacy knowledge through hands-on seminars and continuing education so that we may offer the most up-to-date techniques in formulating customized medications.

Meet our Pharmacists |

Michael Pass, R.Ph. - Mike graduated with a B.S. in Pharmacy from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1961. After owning and operating Newark Family Pharmacy in Newark, NJ, he relocated to Sarasota, FL and opened Family Pharmacy of Sarasota in 1972. Although compounding has always been a part of Family Pharmacy's services, Mike began to focus on this unique aspect of pharmacy in 1992 when he became a member of PCCA. Mike expanded the pharmacy in 1996 by building a state of the art compounding laboratory in order to enhance the accuracy and expertise with which compounded medications are prepared. He was inducted as a Fellow into the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists in 1998. He is also a member of the Florida Pharmacy Association and the National Community Pharmaceutical Association. |

Sharon T. Miller, Pharm.D.- Sharon graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University College of Pharmacy in Glendale, AZ in 2005. She worked retail on Maui until moving to Florida. In July 2008, she joined Family Pharmacy. |

Karen McMicken , R.Ph. - Karen graduated from Drake University with a B.S. in pharmacy in 1974. She has worked in compounding since 1998 in Illinois. Areas of interest are hormone replacement, veterinary medications, pain management, and nutrition. She is a member of IACP. | |
